Work Scope:
The work scope included the removal, refurbishment, and reinstatement of the New Plymouth Wind Wand
- Remove the wand from the stainless-steel base cover
- Undertake non-destructive testing to ensure structural integrity of the wand
- Repair and repaint spar mast
- Manufacture and install new inner and outer spheres for the top of the wand
- Replace swivel bearings for the inner sphere
- Replace existing LED lights with a new design and improved technology
- Polish the stainless-steel dome to remove tea staining
- Strip, clean and reassemble the anti-shock mechanism
- Replace urethane seal on top of dome
